US Securities and Exchange Commission Set to Launch Crypto Road Trip
The US securities and exchange commission (SEC) is known painted as a villain in the crypto community. People often view the SEC as longing to stamp out innovation if it is a risk to investors.
News spread very quickly within the crypto community when the SEC chairman affirmed that Ethereum (ETH) is not a security. This definitely works in favor of all those who have invested in Ethereum as the fact that Ethereum is not considered a security product actually means that it falls under a different category which is far more crypto-friendly.
Cryptocurrency investors across the US would like to verify which of the other cryptocurrencies are considered to be non-security products as well, and there is some speculation that XRP will be the next to follow in Ethereum's footsteps. The reason Ethereum is not considered a security product is due to the fact that it is used for non-security transactions.
However, if you are still looking for a bit more clarification on the topic, the SEC is setting out on a road trip across the US to answer questions regarding trading and securities registration along with any further questions people may have.
The SEC’s Strategic Hub for Innovation and Financial Technology will begin on the 26th March 2019 and its doors will be open between 12:00 until 16:00. The topics which will be included in the meetings will be advisory services related to digital assets, digital assets, digital asset trading platforms, and digital marketplace financing.
The announcement of the road trip followed after the statement that Enthereum is not a security and it will hopefully be useful to understand more about cryptocurrency across the US. The road trip will be an attempt to promote awareness around the issue of cryptocurrency as digital asset technology and to provide a space where innovators, entrepreneurs, and regulators can discuss cryptocurrency.
